Carolwood Part 4 represents the final chapter in the development of the Carolwood neighborhoods — a thoughtful expansion that took shape between 1965 and the early 2000s, completing the residential corridor that many families proudly call home. While earlier phases were built in the 1960s and 1980s, Part 4 emerged during a period of steady growth in Northeast Jackson, Mississippi, when demand for larger, custom-designed homes was at its peak.

Carolwood was developed and built by The E.J. Williams Co., the foremost builder-developer in the greater Jackson area.

The neighborhood takes its name from Carol, Mr. Williams' eldest daughter, and its layout was inspired by his admiration for premier developments in Dallas, Texas. With a single developer at the helm, Williams maintained strict architectural integrity — most notably, his insistence that no two homes could share the same exterior appearance. The result is a neighborhood of genuinely custom homes featuring generous footprints, brick exteriors, multi-gabled roofs, and spacious garages, each one distinct from its neighbor.

Today, Carolwood Part 4 is a mature, well-established community and one of Northeast Jackson's most sought-after addresses. Families are drawn here for its custom architecture, tree-lined streets, and the strong sense of community that has defined the neighborhood for decades. What remains evident is that Carolwood was built with a focus on quality, stability, and lasting residential appeal — values that continue to set it apart.

The Carolwood Part Four Owners Association is a Homeowners Association (HOA) consisting of 39 single-family homes, all built between 1990 and 2002.

Located in the Northeast corner of Jackson, Mississippi, each Carolwood home has a unique design. The Association was formed in 2007 and was later granted permission from the City of Jackson to install a private gate system between Briarwood Drive and Fairway Street.
